AICOLLIM 5 Opens the Door to New Horizons in the Diverse Humanities Landscape

HUMANIORA - (9/6/2023) The prestigious annual event, the Annual International Conference on Language, Literature, and Media (AICOLLIM), embarked on a new chapter in its academic journey with a grand opening on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. This international conference, now in its fifth edition, carries an inspiring theme, "New Directions in The Humanities Landscape Across Diverse Boundaries."

The event kicked off with a captivating performance of the Emprak dance, presented by faculty members and staff from the Faculty of Humanities. This dance not only delighted the eyes but also portrayed the cultural richness surrounding the conference. Attendees were awed by the beauty of the movements and the messages conveyed through the dance.

The opening address was then delivered by the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. H. M. Zainuddin, MA. In his speech, Prof. Zainuddin explained the importance of AICOLLIM as a platform for the exchange of ideas and research in the field of humanities. He also emphasized the significance of upgrading knowledge, collaboration, and cross-border knowledge exchange to explore significant changes in the field of humanities.

The event became even more special with the presence of foreign presenters of the caliber of Dr. Otared Haidar from the University of Oxford, Dr. Annette D. Lienau from Harvard University, Prof. Jerry Won Lee from the University of California, and Prof. Tariq Elyas from King Abdulaziz University.

In this annual conference, participants had the opportunity to interact directly with leading thinkers and researchers in various fields of language, literature, and media.
