Bringing in Professional Practitioners, Humanities Prepares Students for the Workforce

HUMANIORA (3/72024) The Faculty of Humanities at the State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang brought in various professional practitioners during the Field Work Practice (PKL) briefing event on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. They attended to provide guidance and motivation to students who are about to enter the professional world through this PKL activity.
The speakers at this event included Imam Wahyudi, Food & Beverage Manager at Ijen Suites Resort & Convention Malang; Mahmudi, representative from Posco Media; Dr. Dra. Husnul Chotimah, M.Pd., Principal of SMAN Taruna Nala East Java; Muhammad Afif Musthofa, S.S. from Licolize Communications; Mualif from Bromo Holiday Malang; Novin Wibowo, S.Sos., M.Si., CEO of Raya Media Creative and Director of LSP Digital Design Singhasari Malang; and Titis Wulandari, S.Psi., MM, Head of BP3MI East Java.
During the event, the speakers provided various materials relevant to their respective fields of work. They shared experiences and practical tips with students who were divided into six professional groups: translation, journalism, teaching, diplomacy, tourism, and cinematography.
The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Halimi, emphasized that the focus of the PKL activity is to develop student potential through practical education in government and private institutions. He hopes that PKL will enhance students' competencies, knowledge, professionalism, and skills in their chosen professional fields.
“The presence of these professionals is expected to provide a real picture of the working world and motivate students to perform professionally during their PKL,” said Dr. Halimi.
Additionally, Dr. Halimi expressed his hope that through PKL, students will be able to handle and solve problems related to their professional fields at the PKL sites and develop quality human resources, benefiting both the students and the institutions they are placed in.
With the presence of these professional practitioners, students are expected to enhance their competencies, professionalism, and skills in their chosen fields.
