Dean of Humanities Re-Elected by Acclamation as President of ADIA

HUMANIORA – (23/5/2024) Dr. M. Faisol, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, has been re-elected by acclamation as President of the Association of Adab Sciences Lecturers (ADIA) for the 2024-2027 term. The election took place during the commission meeting of Deans and Vice Deans held at the Hermes Palace Hotel, Banda Aceh, on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Dr. M. Faisol was the sole candidate and was elected by acclamation.

"Dean (of Humanities) was the sole candidate and was elected by acclamation as President of ADIA," said Dr. Halimi, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities, after attending the Deans' forum to the Humanities Infopub team.

Dr. Halimi, who was mandated to represent Dean Dr. M. Faisol at the ADIA 2024 forum in Banda Aceh, stated that he had confirmed the election results with Dr. M. Faisol. "I have confirmed this with him. Although he was initially reluctant, he eventually accepted the decision of the assembly," he added.

Dr. M. Faisol was previously elected as President of ADIA for the 2021-2024 period, replacing Dr. H. Barsihannor, M.Ag., at the ADIA forum held at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in September 2021.

When confirmed by the Humanities Infopub team about his re-election as President of ADIA, Dr. M. Faisol stated, "I express my gratitude for the trust given to me once again. This is a great responsibility. Please pray that I have the strength to carry out this mandate well."

The ADIA 2024 forum concluded on Sunday, (19/5), marked by the official closing and the signing of Cooperation Agreements (PKS) between institutions. The forum agreed on several strategic commitments. One of the main commitments is to optimize the role of the ADIA Association in supporting the improvement of academic quality, as well as initiatives to strengthen cooperation between study programs and ensure that the quality of education meets established standards.
