Faculty of Humanities Holds Students Conference 2024, A Platform for Students to Present Scientific Research

HUMANIORA – (2/7/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at the State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held the Students Conference 2024 on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. This Students Conference is a significant part of the Competitive Student Research activities of the Faculty of Humanities, which have been taking place from April to July 2024.
The event was attended by 28 students who passed the selection for the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and 14 faculty members who served as their advisors. Participants were required to present their research findings and receive feedback and input from advisors and reviewers.
The Coordinator of the Students Conference, Dr. Muzakki Afifuddin, M.Pd., emphasized the benefits of this activity for participants to practice presentation skills and gain conference experience, even at the faculty level. “Hopefully, this activity will encourage participants to attend larger scale conferences and to write good articles that can be published in national and international journals,” Muzakki hoped.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah, in her speech, stressed the importance of this activity as a platform for students to develop their academic and professional skills.
“This Students Conference is not only an event to present research results but also an opportunity to interact with fellow researchers, faculty advisors, and reviewers. Through constructive discussions and feedback, students can enhance the quality of their research,” said Dr. Galuh.
Furthermore, Dr. Galuh also hoped that this activity would equip students with valuable experiences that will be useful in the future. “This experience is expected to build students' confidence in presenting their ideas in larger and broader scientific forums,” she added.
The Students Conference proceeded smoothly and received positive responses from participants and faculty advisors. The Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang is optimistic that this activity will significantly contribute to developing students' academic competencies, preparing them to make greater contributions to the world of research and academia.
