
Fostering Entrepreneurial Spirit among Students in the Global Era, Humaniora Cultivates Entrepreneurship Skills
HUMANIORA - (7/5/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a workshop on entrepreneurship on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. The event took place in the 5th floor auditorium and was attended by hundreds of students from the Faculty of Humanities, specifically from the Arabic Language and Literature and English Language and Literature programs.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah, M.Pd., Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, stated that this workshop is an annual event initiated by the Student and Alumni Development Laboratory (LPMA) of the Faculty of Humanities. Its purpose is to provide students with the opportunity to learn basic entrepreneurship skills. She also emphasized that such activities are part of the academic culture of the Faculty of Humanities, which is always innovative and relevant to the demands of the times.Furthermore, she expressed that this workshop is a manifestation of the Faculty of Humanities' commitment to equipping students to face global challenges. She stressed the urgency of this workshop in providing insights for students to explore new possibilities in the entrepreneurial world while enhancing their competitiveness after graduation.
"Students with an entrepreneurial spirit will be better prepared to face these challenges with creativity, innovation, and mental resilience," she said.The workshop featured two inspirational speakers, namely writer and literary figure Mim Yudiarto, and Chief Commissioner of PT. Jawakarta Afkana Properti, Roli Maulidiansyah, S.S., both of whom are alumni of the Faculty of Humanities. They shared basic entrepreneurship skills such as business planning, financial management, marketing, and risk management, providing valuable knowledge for students to develop their own businesses in the future or contribute to family businesses or companies.

Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session and engage in discussions with the speakers. The event was also enlivened by entertainment performances featuring musical renditions of poetry presented by the Pesona Community Team of the Faculty of Humanities.The workshop received positive feedback from participants, who acknowledged gaining many benefits and new knowledge about entrepreneurship from the event. With the presence of such activities, it is hoped that students can acquire sufficient understanding and skills to embark on successful careers as entrepreneurs in the future, and become agents of change capable of making positive contributions to economic development and society.
