
Humaniora Alumni Step into International Level, Target Professional Studies at Foreign Campuses
HUMANIORA - (22/4/2024) Two alumni from the Faculty of Humaniora at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang, Aula Khoirun Nisa and Hamadah Ashfiya, have decided to pursue their professional studies at renowned universities abroad. Their chosen professional studies align with the career paths they selected during their undergraduate studies.
Aula Khoirun Nisa, an alumna of the English Literature program from the class of 2018, has been awarded the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and will pursue her Master's degree at University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland. Aula will specialize in Journalism and International Relations at one of Europe's leading universities, starting in September 2024.Meanwhile, Hamadah Ashfiya, also an alumna of the English Literature program from the class of 2018, has similarly been awarded the same scholarship and commenced her Master's studies at the University of Sydney, Australia, in February 2024. Hamadah will delve into the field of Applied Linguistics and Intercultural Understanding as part of the Master of Crosscultural and Applied Linguistics program.
Both share the same academic background but have chosen different professional fields according to their interests and talents. Their success in stepping into the international professional arena serves as inspiration for other students at the Faculty of Humaniora. It also serves as tangible evidence that the Faculty of Humaniora has successfully provided quality professional options for its students.Dean of the Faculty of Humaniora, Dr. M. Faisol, expressed pride in the acceptance of Humaniora alumni at prestigious foreign campuses. He emphasized that studying abroad is not just about obtaining an academic degree but also an invaluable opportunity to gain priceless experiences.
"With education abroad, which often involves more advanced technology, I hope Humaniora alumni can more easily learn about and understand global innovation trends," said Dr. M. Faisol.He added, "Studying abroad can also hone various skills needed to take on roles in new career paths in the future. This experience will equip students with knowledge, skills, and a broad network, which will be invaluable assets in facing the challenges of the global job market."
It is hoped that the steps taken by Humaniora alumni abroad will lead them to remarkable success. "May they always be enthusiastic and able to achieve their dreams and make meaningful contributions to society and the nation," he concluded.
