Humaniora I-Yes 2024 Adopts the Theme “Empathy to Action: Sparking Humanitarian Endeavors”

HUMANIORA - (1/3/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at the State Islamic University (UIN) Malang held a coordination meeting on Thursday, February 29, 2024, to discuss detailed preparations for the Humaniora International Youth Enhancing Study (I-YES) in 2024. The meeting, chaired by the head of the I-YES 2024 committee, Arief Rahman Hakim, discussed several crucial aspects that will be the foundation for the success of this event.

The theme chosen for I-YES 2024 is "Empathy to Action: Sparking Humanitarian Endeavors," a theme expected to inspire and motivate participants to take concrete humanitarian actions.

The coordination meeting also served as a moment to evaluate the implementation of the previous I-YES in 2023. This evaluation was conducted to ensure that this activity continues to evolve and provide a greater positive impact each year.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, M. Faisol, stated, "I-YES has become an integral part of the Faculty of Humanities' calendar of activities. The evaluation from last year provided valuable insights that we used to enhance this program. We are confident that I-YES 2024 will be a better platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences across cultures."

I-YES 2024 will continue the tradition of inviting 12 foreign students from various countries. The participation of foreign students is expected to provide a unique contribution to enriching discussions and presenting various diverse perspectives.

The event will also feature various interesting sessions, such as Classroom Session: Intercultural Talk, Indonesia Insight, Cultural Class: Folk Music, Indonesian Islamic Culture, and Batik Class. These sessions are designed to provide in-depth insights into Indonesia and explore the potential of local wisdom.
