Humaniora Journal Team Optimizes Steps Towards Scopus Accreditation

HUMANIORA - (31/1/2024) A coordination meeting of the Faculty of Humanities at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang revealed a strong determination to strengthen the management of scientific journals towards Scopus accreditation. The Chair of the Scopus Preparation Team for the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Rohmani Nur Indah, highlighted the significance of Scopus accreditation as international recognition of the quality of journals and their research impact. During the meeting held in the Faculty of Humanities Meeting Room, Dr. Rohmani Nur Indah emphasized that Scopus accreditation not only enhances the reputation of the journals and the institutions that publish them, but also opens up opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and expands research impact globally. Dr. Indah stressed the importance of the right strategy in the submission process of the Lingua journal towards Scopus.
"The timing and coordination with journal managers from the same institution are key. Selecting quality articles and paying attention to the Hi-Index of authors, especially those with Scopus IDs, are crucial steps," said Dr. Indah, who is also the Head of the UIN Malang Journal House.
In the same context, Dr. Indah also highlighted the importance of creating distinction for Lingua through cultural and local issues that attract international attention. Meanwhile, professional journal management was also considered equally important in the effort to realize the Lingua journal's journey towards Scopus.
"Lingua must be ready to submit after meeting all technical and strategic requirements," she added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Scientific Journal Publishing Laboratory at the Faculty of Humanities, Habiba Al-Umami, M.A., also provided insights into the importance of commitment and enthusiasm in managing scientific publications. She emphasized efficiency, transparency, and achieving high-quality standards in line with the demands of professional scientific journal management. Editorial evaluation was considered an integral part of quality journal management.
"The eligibility of each article must be maintained for the sustainability of journal development and updates to remain relevant to current scientific trends," said Habiba.
This coordination meeting reflects the seriousness of the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in presenting scientific journal management in accordance with the latest standards.
