Humaniora Prepares Students to Understand Global Business Dynamics

HUMANIORA – (29/7/2024) The Humaniora International Career Access Network (I-CAN) not only focuses on developing language skills and professional networks but also provides strategic insights into global business dynamics. Through intensive training and mentoring sessions with experts and practitioners from various international industry sectors, I-CAN participants are encouraged to understand how effective business strategies can be applied in a global context.
The I-CAN program, organized by the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, has made a significant contribution to preparing students for the international job market. Fikriaida Iffatul Maula, a 2020 student of Arabic Language and Literature from Bojonegoro, shared her motivations and valuable experiences from the program, as well as her views on future career opportunities.
Fikriaida's strong interest in the business world prompted her to join the Humaniora I-CAN program. "My main motivation is to develop skills and knowledge in business, especially in an international context," she said. The I-CAN program provided invaluable insights and experiences in understanding global business dynamics. Through the program, Fikriaida had the opportunity to learn about international business strategies, develop networks with professionals from various foreign clients, and strengthen her ability to face business challenges on a global scale.
During her participation in the Humaniora I-CAN program, Fikriaida explored three different business fields, gaining valuable insights and significant practical experience.
First, she joined Altair, an Event Organizer (EO) company in the international fashion field. Although they faced some insurmountable challenges after the first month and decided to transition to another company, this experience taught important lessons about flexibility and resilience in business.
Next, Fikriaida joined Flow, an English language application company. Here, she was responsible for selling the application to high school students and university students. "This experience allowed me to hone my marketing and sales skills and understand the dynamics of the education market," she explained. Although it was only for three months, she learned a lot about marketing strategies and the importance of understanding the target audience's needs.
Currently, Fikriaida is with You-I, a company that provides services and programs for internships in Japan. "This experience is very valuable because I learn about service management, coordination of international programs, and the importance of providing high-quality services to clients," she added. Each business field tried during the I-CAN program provided different skills and knowledge, all contributing significantly to her career development.
After participating in the I-CAN program, Fikriaida has a more optimistic and focused view of future career opportunities. "With the skills and knowledge I have gained, I see great opportunities to develop businesses to an international level," she said. Her hope is to contribute significantly to the global business world by creating innovative and high-quality products and services. Through the international business insights and strategies gained from the I-CAN program, she hopes to play a role in developing the global economy.
The Humaniora I-CAN program is not just a training program but a crucial bridge for students to access and develop international careers. With the various skills and practical experiences provided, this program equips students with the abilities needed in the global job market.
