Humaniora to Hold International Scholar Engagement, Bringing Linguistics Expert from Curtin University, Australia

HUMANIORA - (15/3/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang will hold an International Scholar Engagement (ISC) on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB. This event will be conducted online, featuring a world-class expert in the field of language and linguistics, Professor Sender Dovchin from Curtin University, Australia. This event presents a great opportunity for students of the Faculty of Humanities to gain new insights from a world-renowned linguistic expert.

The Chairperson of the ISC committee, Ribut Wahyudi, Ph.D., emphasizes that Professor Sender Dovchin is a great researcher in the field of language and linguistics. His presence provides an excellent opportunity for the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang to broaden students' insights and knowledge in linguistics.

"Professor Sender Dovchin is a great researcher in the field of linguistics, a leading researcher in Australia. It is a great opportunity to invite him to interact with our students," he said.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. M. Faisol, fully supports this activity. He stated that ISC is part of the faculty's efforts to provide valuable experiences and knowledge from foreign lecturers to students, as well as to build international networks.

This ISC activity is the first in 2024, after in the previous year, the Faculty of Humanities brought world-class experts such as Professor Claire Kramsch from the University of California, Professor Ahmar Mahboob from The University of Sydney, Australia, Dr. Ruanni Tupas from University College London, Dr. Azhar Ibrahim from NUS, and various other experts.
