
Humanities Faculty Establishes Collaboration with UNS Javanology Center of Excellence
HUMANIORA – (14/8/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang has officially signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Javanology Center of Excellence at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta. The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, August 15, 2024, during the Ethnolinguistics Research Workshop. UNS Surakarta was represented by Prof. Sahid Teguh Widodo, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., Head of the Javanology Center of Excellence, while the Faculty of Humanities was represented by Dr. M. Faisol.
This agreement is part of efforts to strengthen academic and cultural synergy between the Faculty of Humanities at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang and the Javanology Center of Excellence at UNS. The agreement covers various strategic areas of cooperation, including the organization of seminars, collaborative research, cultural training, and student art activities.The collaboration is expected to open new opportunities for both the Faculty of Humanities and the Javanology Center of Excellence at UNS in developing cultural studies and knowledge, particularly related to local wisdom and Javanese culture.
After signing the Cooperation Agreement, Dr. M. Faisol stated that this collaboration is a strategic effort to strengthen academic and cultural networks at the national level. "This partnership is a strategic step for the Faculty of Humanities in expanding perspectives and deepening cultural studies, particularly those related to Javanology. Through this collaboration, we hope to produce outstanding research, inspiring seminars, and art activities that not only enrich our students but also contribute significantly to the preservation and development of Indonesian culture," Dr. M. Faisol said.He also added that this initiative aligns with the Faculty of Humanities' vision to become a center of excellence in the development of humanities knowledge based on cultural and religious values. "This collaboration is not just a formality, but a commitment to continue growing and contributing in the academic and cultural fields," he added.
This partnership is expected to be a positive first step in strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang and UNS Surakarta, contributing significantly to the development of knowledge and the preservation of culture in Indonesia.
