Humanities Faculty Holds Departure Briefing for I-SMASH Program to Thailand

HUMANIORA – (30/5/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held an online briefing session on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, for participants of the International Student Mobility and Academic Seminar in Humanities (I-SMASH) program heading to Thailand. The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Halimi, the Vice Dean for Cooperation and Student Affairs, Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah, and the field coordinator, Ahmad Ridho. The participants are scheduled to take part in the I-SMASH program in Thailand for 30 days, from June 18 to August 18, 2024.
In the briefing, Dr. Halimi opened the session by providing guidance on the goals and benefits of the I-SMASH program. He emphasized the importance of international experience in enhancing students' academic and cultural insights.
"This program offers an extraordinary opportunity to broaden academic perspectives and understand cultural diversity, which is crucial in an increasingly global world," he said.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Cooperation and Student Affairs, Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah, highlighted the aspect of international cooperation and the importance of building a global academic network.
"This activity is not just about studying abroad but also about building relationships that can support future academic and professional careers. The network established during this program will be a valuable asset for students," Dr. Galuh stated.
As the field coordinator, Ahmad Ridho provided detailed explanations about the technical implementation of the program. He outlined the agenda of activities, the rules to be followed, and the preparations that participants need to complete before departure.
"Ensure that all administrative and logistical preparations are completed before departure. Follow all instructions carefully to ensure smooth experiences while in Thailand," explained Ahmad Ridho.
The briefing session also served as a Q&A forum, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions related to the I-SMASH program, including accommodation, academic activities, and cultural adaptation in Thailand.
With this briefing, it is hoped that the I-SMASH participants to Thailand can prepare themselves well and make the most of this opportunity.
