Humanities Faculty Reviews Maturity Rating Document, Here’s the Message from Head of BLU Management

HUMANIORA – (29/5/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a session to review the maturity rating document on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the dean's office on the first floor of the Humanities Faculty. The event was attended by the Head of the BLU Management Development Center, Slamet, MM., Ph.D., along with his team. The purpose of the session was to assess the maturity rating working papers, which encompass various outcome and process-based aspects.
The maturity rating document outline s key components that must be completed, including identification, summary of process-based assessment results, and the results for each indicator. The Faculty of Humanities has prepared the maturity rating working paper based on four main aspects of the Process Base: Internal Capability, Innovation, Governance and Leadership, and Environment. The assessment is conducted using five maturity levels: Initial, Managed, Defined, Quantitatively Managed, and Optimizing.
According to Slamet, Ph.D., the entries in the maturity rating document for the Faculty of Humanities were deemed quite valid, though some revisions are still needed.
"This review provides us with guidance to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Thus, we can plan follow-up activities that will help the Faculty of Humanities reach the next maturity level," said Slamet.
On the same occasion, Slamet, Ph.D. emphasized that the maturity rating serves as a roadmap for the organization, outlining various growth stages that must be traversed to achieve excellence. This document also provides comprehensive evaluation standards, helping stakeholders measure and enhance organizational performance and governance.
"This tool helps UIN Malang identify areas for improvement to maintain continuous enhancement. We not only look at the output but also the processes to produce that output, including internal capabilities, governance, and innovation," he stressed.
Furthermore, Slamet, Ph.D. highlighted that the maturity rating is not merely a tool for assessing good or poor performance but is related to a mindset change in organizational management.
"A change in mindset is a crucial aspect of organizational change management. This includes shifts in thinking, values, assumptions, and attitudes held by individuals or groups within the organization," he added.
