Humanities I-YES 2024 Participants Explore Culture in Malang City

HUMANIORA – (10/9/2024) On the first day of the Humanities International Youth Enhancing Study (I-YES) 2024 program (9/9), participants were invited to get to know the various campus facilities through a "Campus Tour." They had the opportunity to visit the magnificent rectorate building, the library, which serves as a knowledge hub, and the student Ma'had, which reflects a combination of religious values and global education that defines UIN Malang.
The activities did not stop on campus. After the "Campus Tour," participants continued their exploration by enjoying the beauty and uniqueness of Malang City through the Malang City Tour (MACITO) bus service. Iconic locations in the city, such as Tugu Square, Kayutangan Heritage area, Merdeka Square, and Ijen Street, were among the destinations they visited. Participants delved into the history and charm of Malang City, which is not only rich in cultural values but also offers a serene and pleasant atmosphere.
Rosee Laehseng, a participant from Thailand, expressed her joy at being part of the program. "I feel very happy to meet people from various countries and learn about their cultures. UIN Malang's campus is extraordinary, with complete facilities and a supportive learning environment. I am especially impressed with the Ma'had, which reflects a combination of religious values and modern education," she said.
Meanwhile, Eissa Thabit Mohamed from Sudan shared his excitement about riding the Macito bus, saying, "I explored Malang City on a special bus. It was so fun, and I could directly see the beauty of the city while learning about the history of its iconic places. This experience is truly unforgettable." [al]
