I-YES 2024 Participants Explore the Uniqueness of Museum Angkut in Batu City

HUMANIORA – (12/9/2024) The International Youth Enhancing Study (I-YES) 2024 program offered an unforgettable experience for participants as they visited Museum Angkut in Batu City on the fourth day of activities (12/9). Famous for its collection of historical vehicles and miniature world landmarks, the museum provided an educational yet captivating experience. Participants were taken on a journey through the evolution of transportation from different parts of the world.
The tour began with participants exploring the vehicle exhibition area, which featured various modes of transport, from classic cars and antique motorcycles to traditional vehicles like horse-drawn carriages. This unique and diverse collection took participants on a historical journey, showcasing how vehicles have evolved over time.
In addition to land vehicles, participants were also treated to displays of replica airplanes and helicopters. One of the main highlights was the replica of Indonesia's presidential plane, which garnered special attention as it provided insight into the differences between the facilities used by national leaders and public transport.
Museum Angkut also showcased miniatures of several world-famous landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, and the Taj Mahal. These detailed and accurate replicas allowed participants to experience the wonders of world architecture, even in miniature form. The sights drew admiration from participants, who seized the opportunity to take photos at various iconic spots.
Ratsimandresy Yeriel Fiandrianana, a participant from Madagascar, expressed his amazement at the museum. "It was truly incredible. I was so impressed to see the wide variety of vehicles, from traditional to modern ones. This museum really offers an unforgettable experience," he said enthusiastically. He added, "Seeing different modes of transportation, including those using buffalo and modern land transport, was really fascinating. I'm so glad I came here."
In addition to the exhibitions, the participants' experience was further enhanced by interactive displays. They had the chance to experience the thrill of drifting in a car driven by a professional driver. This activity provided a hands-on experience that was not only exciting but also educational in terms of driving skills and vehicle control in extreme situations.
Rosee Laehseng, a participant from Thailand, also shared her experience. "It was such a fun experience being at Museum Angkut. There were all kinds of transportation, from cars and motorcycles to planes and ships. The most fascinating for me was the replica of Indonesia's presidential plane; this experience was truly memorable," she said.
The visit to Museum Angkut was part of the I-YES event series aimed at broadening participants' horizons through cultural and educational experiences. Through the museum’s exhibitions, participants not only learned about the history of transportation but also gained global insights into technological advancements in various countries.
