Inauguration of New OMIK Humaniora Committee, Dean Emphasizes Awareness and Maturity in Organizational Roles

HUMANIORA - (22/4/2024) Warmth and enthusiasm filled the atmosphere in the 3rd-floor Auditorium of the Faculty of Humaniora at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang during the inauguration event of the Intra-Campus Student Organization (OMIK) for the year 2024, on Friday, April 19, 2024. Dean of the Faculty of Humaniora, Dr. M. Faisol, provided guidance to the new OMIK committee members, highlighting their significant role in advancing the organization and the challenges faced in the current era.

In his speech, Dr. M. Faisol emphasized that OMIK is not just a place for organizing activities but also a platform for shaping students' awareness and maturity in facing differing opinions in society. "This organization is a place to dissect our awareness, sharpen our maturity, and prepare ourselves to contribute to society," he said.

The Dean also highlighted the importance of the daily roles of OMIK leaders in leading, inspiring, and motivating members to excel and contribute maximally. He underscored the complexity of their tasks and responsibilities in an era filled with dynamics and complexities like the present one.

Furthermore, Dr. M. Faisol urged activists to optimize their organizational experience as an opportunity for personal growth and development. "It's not just about external activities within the organization but also about internal self-development. Enhancing knowledge and reading books are crucial to becoming more effective and empowered agents of change," he emphasized.

The inauguration of OMIK proceeded smoothly with the selection of new leaders entrusted to Muhammad Imam Akbar as the Chairman of the Student Senate, Sirajuddin Ibnu Nur as the Chairman of the Student Council, Pujianto as the Chairman of the Student Association of English Literature, and Muhammad Naufal Abqory as the Chairman of the Student Association of Arabic Literature.

This event not only marked an important milestone in solidifying new leadership but also served as the beginning of a challenging and inspirational journey for OMIK at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. With strong spirit and commitment, it is hoped that OMIK will continue to contribute to producing quality and integrity-driven students for a better future.
