Officially Inaugurated, Prof. Muassomah Becomes the First Female Full Professor in Humaniora

HUMANIORA - (23/4/2024) A sense of emotion and pride enveloped the environment of the Faculty of Humaniora at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang with the inauguration of Prof. Muassomah, M.Si., M.Pd., as a Full Professor in the field of Arabic Language Studies. Prof. Muassomah not only etches her name in the ranks of Full Professors at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang but also becomes the first female professor in the Faculty of Humaniora.

Born in Gresik 51 years ago, she becomes a full professor at the Faculty of Humaniora after officially receiving the Decree of Appointment as a Full Professor in the field of Arabic Language Studies on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the 4th floor of the UIN Walisongo Semarang Rectorate. She is the fourth Full Professor at the Faculty of Humaniora, following the inauguration of Prof. Wildana Wargadinata in 2022.

Following the Full Professor inauguration ceremony at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, the Dean of the Faculty of Humaniora, Dr. M. Faisol, extended his congratulations to Prof. Muassomah for the title she has achieved. In his statement, Dr. M. Faisol emphasized the importance of this inauguration in enhancing the quality of education at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, especially in the Faculty of Humaniora.

"Congratulations to Prof. Muassomah, may the addition of Full Professors at the Faculty of Humaniora serve as an additional impetus for human resources in realizing the university's vision of becoming an excellent Islamic institution with international reputation," he said.

M. Faisol also expressed his hope that Prof. Muassomah would fulfill her duties well. According to him, the responsibilities of a Full Professor are not limited to institutional, societal, and national duties but also involve continuous efforts in enhancing and disseminating knowledge to the younger generation, as well as contributing to the nation's progress.

The inauguration of Prof. Muassomah as a Full Professor not only marks an academic achievement but also adds a new dimension to Arabic language research that explores gender dimensions and strengthens understanding of cultural practices in Arab society.
