Opening AICOLLIM 5, Rector Emphasizes the Importance of Upgrading Knowledge and Collaboration

HUMANIORA - (9/6/2023) The Rector of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang, Prof. Dr. H. M. Zainuddin, MA., warmly welcomed all participants attending the Annual International Conference on Language, Literature, and Media (AICOLLIM) 5 on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. In his speech, he expressed his pride in the university's progress in implementing the university's roadmap to achieve international reputation and recognition.

During the occasion, Rector Prof. Zainuddin emphasized that this year's AICOLLIM is concrete evidence of the university's commitment to meeting international standards. He commended the Faculty of Humanities for bringing in high-caliber international speakers from Global University Ranking.

Specifically, Prof. Zainuddin extended special appreciation to the foreign guests present at the event, namely Dr. Otared Haidar from the University of Oxford, Dr. Annette D. Lienau from Harvard University, Prof. Jerry Won Lee from the University of California, and Prof. Tariq Elyas from King Abdulaziz University.

The native of Bojonegoro City regarded this conference as an essential platform for discussing various current issues related to linguistics across space and time, literature and character formation, post-colonial studies, nationalistic enhancement, Islamic manuscripts in interdisciplinary studies, and various other crucial topics.

"This conference is significant as a platform for upgrading knowledge, collaboration, and cross-border knowledge exchange," he stated.

Notably, Rector Prof. Zainuddin also expressed his gratitude to the speakers and participants for sharing their ideas and experiences in this conference. He also hoped that all participants would gain valuable insights by exploring new ideas from all the speakers in this conference.
