Passing Certification Exams: Humanities Lecturers and Students Earn Certificates from LSP P3 DDS

HUMANIORA – (23/9/2024). Four lecturers and fourteen students from the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang successfully earned professional certifications in Image Editing and Photography after passing a series of certification exams held by the LSP P3 Desain Digital Singhasari (LSP P3 DDS). The certification exams took place on June 21, 2024, involving rigorous assessments that included written tests, oral exams, and interviews, all guided by experienced competency assessors, Novin Farid Styo Wibowo and Lailatul Husniah.
The certification process followed two distinct occupational schemes: the Image Editor Occupation Scheme and the Junior Photographer Occupation Scheme. Both schemes covered extensive and technical materials, ranging from software operation, basic design principles, and visual communication to fundamental photography techniques such as shutter speed, ISO, and aperture. The method used in this exam was demonstration observation, allowing participants to showcase their skills in practical situations.
One of the participating students, Subarkah Siwitomo, expressed his gratitude for the certification. "I am very thankful and excited to have earned this certificate. I hope this certification will be a valuable asset for my future career, especially in job hunting, as this certificate is officially recognized by a government institution," Subarkah stated with optimism.
This achievement is not only a source of pride for the participants but also demonstrates the Faculty of Humanities' dedication to equipping its students with practical skills relevant to the workforce. Success in the certification exams is proof that the curriculum implemented by the faculty prepares students to face professional challenges, particularly in creative fields such as graphic design and photography.
Dr. M. Faisol, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, expressed his appreciation for this accomplishment. "The success of both lecturers and students in obtaining professional certifications in Image Editing and Photography marks a significant step in improving the quality of education at the Faculty of Humanities. These certifications are not only evidence of their technical skills but also our commitment to preparing graduates who are competitive in the job market," he said.
Meanwhile, Mahrus Ali, M.Sn., one of the lecturers who participated in the certification, also shared his pride. "The certification process was challenging, but it provided us with invaluable experience as educators. With this certification, we hope to continue developing ourselves and guiding students with skills that meet industry standards," Mahrus said.
This accomplishment reinforces the Faculty of Humanities' commitment to producing graduates who excel not only academically but also possess nationally recognized professional competencies. With these certificates in hand, both lecturers and students are ready to face the workforce with honed expertise. [al]
