PBAK Humanities 2024: Building Cultured Students Amid Digital Transformation

HUMANIORA – (August 22, 2024) Under the theme "Becoming Resilient and Cultured Students in the Digital Transformation Era," the Pengenalan Budaya Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan (PBAK) activities at the Faculty of Humanities invited new students to not only adapt to the rapid technological changes but also to maintain existing cultural values. The PBAK Faculty event served as a gateway for 283 new students to get to know more about the academic culture and social life on the Humanities campus.
The PBAK, which took place over two days until Friday, August 23, 2024, began with a series of activities that reflected the spirit of Humanities. Starting with the morning roll call, singing the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" and the Humanities Faculty anthem, followed by welcoming speeches from the faculty leaders, the atmosphere of togetherness and enthusiasm was palpable. The new students were also invited to witness a demonstration of the faculty's tagline, followed by a presentation on faculty matters by Vice Dean 1, Dr. Halimi, M.Pd., Vice Dean 2, Prof. Dr. Muassomah, M.Pd., and Vice Dean 3, Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah, M.Ed.
PBAK not only focused on academic orientation but also provided space for new students to understand the role of Intra-Campus Student Organizations (OMIK) as a means of personal development outside the classroom. In the afternoon session, new students received material on "Becoming Resilient and Cultured Students in the Digital Transformation Era," presented by Chikyta Fariha, an inspiring speaker who emphasized the importance of adaptation and innovation in the digital era.
According to Humaniora's Infopub monitoring, the total number of new students registered in the final validation system was 283, consisting of 137 students from the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program and 146 students from the English Literature Study Program. They came from various regions across Indonesia with diverse backgrounds and cultures, ready to become part of the larger academic family of the Faculty of Humanities.
At the end of the day, a sense of camaraderie grew stronger as all PBAK participants took a group photo together, marking the beginning of their journey in the new academic world. PBAK is not just an orientation event, but a significant first step in shaping students' characters to be humanistic, cultured, and prepared to face the challenges of the times. [al]
