Preparation for PKL 2024: Vice Dean Encourages Student Actualization in Professional Communities

HUMANIORA (3/7/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at the State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a briefing for Field Work Practice (PKL) for students on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, on the 5th floor of the Rectorate Building. This event was attended by students from the English Literature and Arabic Language and Literature Study Programs, who will carry out PKL activities from July 10 to August 20, 2024.
The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah. In her speech, Dr. Galuh emphasized that PKL is a golden opportunity for students to actualize themselves in society and strengthen their professional identity. "PKL is not just an academic obligation but a real learning space in the community."
She highlighted that the challenges faced in the professional world and society will be different from those encountered in the classroom. “Therefore, PKL is an opportunity to learn and act professionally in an effort to develop oneself and actualize in the world of work,” she said.
On the same occasion, Dr. Galuh also expressed her hope that PKL would yield positive and beneficial results for improving student competence. "I hope that through PKL, students can gain valuable experience, enhance their competencies, and bring benefits to themselves and the communities where they practice," she added.
The PKL, which runs from July 10 to August 20, 2024, involves 370 students from the English Literature and Arabic Language and Literature study programs. They will be placed in various government and private institutions that have partnered with the Faculty of Humanities, aiming to develop their knowledge, skills, experience, and professional networks.
The PKL briefing and opening activities proceeded smoothly and with great enthusiasm from the participants.
