Rector of UIN Malang Opens Humaniora I-YES 2024, Promotes Global Collaboration and Inclusivity

HUMANIORA – (September 9, 2024) The Humaniora International Youth Enhancing Study (I-YES) Program 2024 was officially inaugurated by the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. H. M. Zainuddin, M.A., on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the third-floor theater of the Faculty of Humanities. The opening ceremony marked the beginning of one of the Faculty’s flagship programs, designed to broaden global perspectives and strengthen cross-cultural collaboration among students.
In his opening remarks, the Rector extended his congratulations and appreciation for the successful organization of I-YES 2024. He acknowledged that this event plays a significant role in enhancing the university’s international reputation and promoting global recognition for UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The I-YES Program, which brings together students from various countries, is seen as a strategic platform for fostering international relations, in line with UIN Malang’s vision of becoming a world-class university.
The Rector emphasized the importance of sustaining international programs like I-YES in facing global challenges during the age of disruption. He reaffirmed that UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang is an inclusive university that welcomes everyone, regardless of race, culture, or religion. "This campus is a place where diversity is embraced with open arms," he stated.
He added that diversity within the educational environment not only enriches the learning atmosphere but also strengthens the social bonds among students from different backgrounds.
Furthermore, the Rector expressed his hope that the I-YES Program would continue to be held regularly, allowing more international students to participate and experience the academic and cultural excellence of UIN Malang. He is confident that through such programs, the university can better prepare its students to face global challenges.
The Rector also underlined that in this era of disruption, where changes happen rapidly, UIN Malang is the right and representative place for students to prepare for the future. The I-YES Program serves as tangible proof of the university's commitment to facilitating the exchange of knowledge, culture, and innovation at the global level.
The opening ceremony concluded with the Rector striking the gong as a formal gesture to inaugurate the Humaniora I-YES 2024 Program. In a spirited atmosphere, the Rector, along with the faculty leaders, symbolically draped sashes over the participants as a warm welcome from UIN Malang to the international students.
With the full support of university leadership, the I-YES 2024 Program is expected to continue evolving, bringing real benefits, and acting as a bridge for both UIN Malang and international students to jointly face a brighter future.
