
Strengthening Improvement Efforts, Humanities Engages Students in Academic Evaluation
HUMANIORA – (16/8/2024) The Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held an Evaluation of Learning, Student Activities, and Faculty Facilities on Thursday, August 15, 2024. This event was conducted online and attended by student representatives from the 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters. The evaluation was part of the faculty’s continuous effort to enhance the quality of education, student welfare, and available facilities, ensuring that the teaching and learning process runs optimally.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Halimi, emphasized the importance of this evaluation as a means to gather feedback from students on various aspects of the faculty. "This evaluation activity is a strategic step for all of us to collectively identify what has been working well and what still needs improvement. With this evaluation, we hope to continue improving the quality of academic services, student activities, and the facilities available at the Faculty of Humanities. Your input is invaluable in creating a conducive learning environment that supports academic achievement," said Dr. Halimi.The event was divided into several sessions involving interactive discussions between students and the faculty. Students were given the opportunity to express their opinions, suggestions, and complaints related to learning, student activities, and the facilities available at the faculty. The discussions were conducted in a constructive atmosphere, with each piece of feedback from the students receiving direct responses from the faculty leaders.
In the learning evaluation session, students highlighted the need for more interactive and adaptive teaching methods in line with technological advancements. They also expressed the desire for course materials to be more relevant to the demands of the job market. Additionally, during the student activities session, students emphasized the need for increased support for extracurricular activities that can develop soft skills and expand professional networks.Meanwhile, in the facilities evaluation, students expressed their hope that the faculty’s facilities, especially those related to technology and learning spaces, continue to be improved to support a more effective teaching and learning process.
This evaluation activity was a significant moment for the Faculty of Humanities in reflecting and making improvements for the future. With the active participation of students in providing feedback, the faculty is expected to become more responsive to the needs and challenges faced by students.Dr. Halimi concluded the event by expressing his appreciation to all participants who actively participated in the evaluation. "We greatly appreciate all the feedback that has been given. This evaluation is part of our commitment to always listen to and involve students in every improvement process within this faculty. Let’s continue to collaborate to make the Faculty of Humanities a better and higher-quality place to study," he concluded.
