Student from Faculty of Humanities Achieves 1st Place in Java English Competition 2023

HUMANIORA - (10/19/2023) Kurniawan Agus Fiqih Budiman, a student from the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, has achieved remarkable success by securing the first-place position in the Java English Competition (JEC) 2023. This competition, organized by Himaprodi PBI UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, provided a platform for students to compete in English essay writing.
The Java English Competition (JEC) 2023 is an annual event that has reached its 13th year, having been initiated in 2010. Students from various institutions in East Java participated in this competition, including those from Universitas Negeri Surabaya, UIN Tulungagung, and UIN Surabaya.
Kurniawan Agus Fiqih Budiman, currently in the third semester, confidently presented two of his essays. The first essay was titled "The Values of Intercultural Knowledge: Fostering the Existence of Globally-Minded Indonesian Youth for a Peaceful Future," while the second essay was titled "English Proficiency in the Society 5.0 Era: How English Writing Enables the Indonesian Youth to Gain Knowledge with Intellectually Diverse Folks." These essays took him from the preliminary round to the final round of the competition.
In this Java English Competition, Kurniawan Agus Fiqih Budiman impressed the judges with his exceptional English language skills and his critical perspectives on global issues. This achievement is not only a personal accomplishment but also a source of pride for the Faculty of Humanities at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
It is hoped that Kurniawan Agus Fiqih Budiman's achievement will serve as an inspiration for other students to step forward, compete, and carve out outstanding achievements at the national and international levels.
